As we approached Oahu Hawaii, outside our cabin was a magnificent welcoming rainbow. I have been to the Hawaiian islands many times in my life and I felt happy to see it again. On this visit I wanted to take Brenda to one of my favorite spots on earth, Hanalei Bay in Kauai.
We disembarked the ship and headed for the airport for the quick 30 minute flight to Lihue. With our rental car we made the one hour drive up the coast. We parked the car at 1Hotel and walked down to the beach to be greeted by a magnificent bay and razor backed mountains. This is where the movie South Pacific was filmed and it is still very much unspoiled to this day.
The Hanalei area is so green and fertile. As you drive it you see many Taro patches and beautiful scenes. It is truly the garden island.
