One of the things that attracted us to sail on the QE2 is the fact they still have formal nights requiring men to wear tuxedos and women gowns. Other cruise lines have abandoned this practice. There is something very civilized about getting all dressed up and looking your best for your partner. It sure beats looking at someone wearing shorts, t-shirt and baseball hat.
The ship also has plenty of opportunities for classic ball room dancing which we are learning. We started lessons in Santa Fe but on the ship we moved into high gear with private lessons on the Waltz. It’s very stimulating for the body and brain to learn new moves. It’s doubly so with a ship rocking back and forth!
