In 1956 my family moved from Australia to the United States on the Orsova, a P&O ship. At the time I was 3 years old and only spoke Czech, my native tongue. We arrived in San Francisco looking to live the American dream.
Today, my wife Brenda and I are in our 70’s moving from the United States back to Australia on the Queen Elizabeth 2 vessel. I now speak pretty good English. In a few weeks we will arrive in Sydney on the rewind of my trip in 1957 looking to live the retirement dream.
