In the high country outside Flagstaff Arizona is a mammouth crater caused by a meteorite crashing to earth. This event occurred 50,000 years ago. The meteorite was traveling at 25,000 miles an hour. For my Australian friends that’s like traveling from Sydney to Perth in 5 minutes!
The resulting explosion blew a giant hole in planet earth with the force of 20 million pounds of TNT. Standing at the rim of the crater it is hard to absorb the enormity of it all. You definitely feel very small in comparison to the power of the cosmos. It makes our current problems insignificant.
