Touch and Go

We had three flights to get home by flying to Miami, Dallas and Albuquerque. The middle segment Miami to Dallas was the toughest part. When we arrived in Miami there was a mile long walking labyrinth to get to customs. Fortunately they had ample customs agents to service the crowds.

In two hours after clearing US customs we began boarding our Dallas bound plane. As we were on the gateway to get into the plane they stopped us for an hour. So here we were standing in the gateway, all of us stuck going nowhere. Then some crew members and a big fella from the plane started running in and out of the plane past the long line of people. Rumors fly. “Someone peed all over the plane! We learned later a handicapped person with cerebral palsy couldn’t control his bladder which in turn made a mess everywhere.

An hour and a half later they cleaned up the aircraft and we finally boarded. On the way to Dallas the pilot poured on the gas and we arrived with 4 minutes to make our connection. By this time the airline has already cancelled our tickets to Albuquerque saying we can stay at the motel 6 in Dallas. Fortunately for us, our connecting flight waited for us and six other similar situated passengers who needed to make the connection. At last we arrived in Albuquerque including bags. By the time we arrived home it was 2am! Whew we almost didn’t make it.
