Where I last left this blog was we were scrambling to find a hotel during high season in Antiqua. Our driver was dropping others off at the Pineapple Beach Resort. With hat in hand I went inside to speak to the manager pleading for a room for two nights. Much to my elation she said yes we will accommodate you despite all travel sites saying we are full. Whew, we could hardly believe our luck. In the dark, the hotel looked nice but we were uncertain but only cared if the beds were good and clean.
The next morning we woke up to glorious sunshine and our unit faced the beach and ocean! “We got damn lucky”, we said to eachother. Plus the resort was all inclusive to boot! How wonderful to have all included meals and drinks. So we jumped into our bathing suits and grabbed lounge chairs by the water and plopped in the ocean and pool waters all day long. Going in and out of the ocean to cool off and napping in the afternoon provided just the tonic we needed after a stressful day at the airport.
The staff and people have been absolutely wonderful. They smile a lot and are always helpful. The attitude is infectious and the mostly international guests are quiet and respectful of everyone else. It made for a perfect restful vibe in a beautiful location by the sea.
