While we were in Byron Bay we decided to tour the back country and discovered lovely small towns and a wonderful attraction called the Crystal Castle. The Castle is a lovely park filled with the most enormous crystal geodes. Many of these crystal formations were imported from around the world. My particular favorite crystal is Amethyst and happens to be my birth stone. The world’s largest geode is located on the property.
The park is also a Buddhist retreat where you can do prayer wheels and listen to crystal bells while you meditate. Up a ways from the Peace Temple is a tree which was a direct descendent of the Bodhi tree in which Buddha sat under and became enlightened. The Peace Temple was inaugurated and blessed by Dahli Lama when it opened. This was a most beautiful experience for us, especially since we are California centric in our eclectic tastes.
