The rain continues and Sydney is suffering from flooding. But the rain hasn’t deterred us from going out and about and in fact makes us feel like we are in jolly old England. All the parks have a wonderful spring green color.
Australia is a member of the Commonwealth countries which have loyalty to the Queen of England. We stopped in to the Parliament building of New South Wales to see the Upper and Lower chambers. This building was once the original Australian parliament building. The Australian governing system is based on the English and the interior of the old building has the aroma of many years of use. The modern section has a lovely fountain in the middle courtyard.
We also walked in the rain to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Admission to museums is available to the public free of charge. Despite the all day rains, we are having a great time in jolly old Australia.
