We have loved our time in Baja, Mexico, met many wonderful new friends, and even tried to put roots down by the beautiful Sea of Cortez. Yesterday evening the world suddenly changed with war, which happened to coincide with the end of our 6 month odyssey.
With no sleep from watching the Russian invasion of Ukraine unfold on TV we had a terrible sadness thinking of all the beautiful people and countries we have met along our journey and how this action by Russia has affected us all. Like Ukraine, each place we visited has a unique culture and desire for autonomy. They are all beautiful each and everyone in their own ways. Croatia for example survived a terrible war and came back stronger and happier than ever because of their hard fought freedom. Ukraine was coming back too and now is cut down just as it was getting started.
So in the morning we were outside before sunrise saying prayers for the Ukraine people and our very fragile world. As we fly back to American soil and Scottsdale, Arizona, where we’ll get to hug and spend the weekend with Brenda’s daughter, Kimberly, we wish you all many blessings. We send much love to you and all the lovely people and places we have met along the way.
