The title is a mouthful to be sure but it describes a wonderful museum in La Paz which houses many wonderful cultural exhibits. During our visit we received a personal guided tour by a young helpful english speaking docent.
Of great interest to us was the exibit of cave paintings by the local native tribes inhabiting the area. These paintings were painted by a pre-Hispanic group in the region known as the Cochimies. The cave paintings in Baja date back from 100 BC to 1300 AD. This rock art is some of the best preserved on the planet and is now a World heritage site.
