All over the world they celebrate this day for lovers. Even in La Paz but this year it was made special by a lovely young lady who visited our table at breakfast.
The young woman was selling home made apple pies in the shape of hearts. She told us she had a six month old child back at her home. Last night she spent the evening making and beautifully wrapping her pies. In the morning she went out to the local restaurants and sold them. This hard working mother spent her evening not only making pies but also helping to support her family. The pies were only $2.50 a piece but for her that small amount meant she could bring a little something extra for her family. The meaning of Valentines Day held a special appreciation for us this year. The pies were delicious.
