End of the Road

Jan. 30, 2022

There is a road that runs up east of La Paz to some spectacular beaches. The topography is different from the rest of the coastline. You wind past coves and bays with dramatic hues of green and turquoise waters. This is contrasted with dry brown mountains and cliffs dotted with cactus. At the conclusion of a 20 minute drive from the city you arrive at the end of the road. The beach here is called Playa El Tecolote.

Playa El Tecolote is a long wide beach with sand the consostency of powered sugar. As you walk barefoot down the beach your feet feel like they are getting a soft massage. Peligans dive in unison catching fish on one side while on the other you see Mexicans and tourists in beach chairs eating Ceviche. This place is hardly a dead end at the end of the road.
