Today is Brenda’s birthday! Tanti Auguri in Italian usually means « many best wishes » expressed for birthdays and the Christmas holidays. Brenda is celebrating a big one today so we wanted to do something special. While we were expecting heavy rains, miraculously very little rain fell on us today while the rest of Italy got pounded.
Our morning plans were to visit one of the largest wine producers in the area called Carpineto Winery. They distribute all over the world. Our tour guide was fabulous and took Brenda, myself, Wendy and John plus Kyle and Sarah for a walk through the vineyards and the museum.
Inside the winery, we saw the enormous wine barrels that aged the wonderful Tuscan wines and then we went upstairs and had a tasting of the best wines of the region. A wonderful way for Brenda and all of us to kick off the birthday celebrations. Tanti Auguri Brenda!
