We disembarked the Windsurf today in the Rome port city of Civitavecchia. We were surprised when we entered the harbor to see seven cruise ships all tied up and stuck there in limbo. They are all waiting out the Covid pandemic before going back into service.
We rented a car for the next 33 days to tootle around Italy. Our first stop was a small port city of Porto Santo Stefano. I spent a summer here 51 years ago. It was a lovely drive around the rocky slopes of the island. The. We headed off to Siena where we are briefly stopping to rest after our long cruise.
