Since we’re enjoying . . .

Sept 26, 2021

. . . a day of sailing around the tip of Southern Italy today in our way to Sicily, thought we’d take the opportunity to update you on our experience traveling the Mediterranean during Covid times.

In general, it’s been easy and has felt safe. You’ll need to bring a supply of KN95 masks, as they are required everywhere indoors in Europe – inside any building, restaurant, restroom, etc. Outside, wearing masks are not generally required, although we still slip them on when crowds have gotten big.
We’ve been tested by the ship more times than we can count due to maritime regulations and each country’s entry requirements.

You must carry your hard copies of vaccine cards everywhere with you – Not printed copies or digital. They want to see your card. (We were actually asked to show them to get into the cafe in the Acropolis Museum in Athens.)
Greece and Croatia now allows tourists to wander anywhere if you carry your vaccination card and wear mask indoors. Italy is more strict with cruise passengers, requiring a “bubble”, which means you must be on a ship excursion to get off the ship. We’ll update you how it is in Italy when we start off on our own later this week.

We hope you’re doing well and having a beautiful Fall. Sending lots of love and Beauty!
