We are staying with my good friend Rich Marin and his wife Kim in Escondido near San Diego. Our friendship goes back to high school in 1968. Rich ended up as a famous banker in New York who decided to retire on the West Coast.
Their hilltop villa is beautiful spot with a two and a half acre garden that Rich has cultivated into a veritable magical playground of plants and sculptures. Strolling his garden makes me feel like I was a kid again.
