For more than 30 years Brenda has been intimately involved with the Navajo tribes and their sacred ceremonies. She is related by a former marriage to the Navajos. Last night a medicine man held a special protection ceremony for our journey to Australia.
The evening consisted of burning past ceremonial fire sticks, chanting Navajo prayers, and praying to the elements for protection. Present was (back row) Alfred and Cia Yazzie and Dennis Manuelito. Front row from right to left was Brenda Beck, Emerson John and his wife. It felt good to be recognized and connect with the spirits of the Navajo culture as a wonderful send off for our journey.
