Rain greeted our arrival this morning in Manchester. Upon exiting customs it took three hours to get our bags and pickup our rental car. Desperately tired and bleary eyed, we left the airport on our way to Mungrisdale as our ultimate destination. It was an hour and a half drive on the left side of the road.
The countryside gradually became more hilly as the hedgerows gradually turned into massive stone fences. We knew we had entered the Lake District . The various fields were dotted with new born lambs and thousands of daffodils adding to a cheery sight despite the inclement weather. Our home sweet home for the next five weeks is a B&B called Near Howe.
