Surrounding Puerto Rico are several small tropical islands. Once under Spanish rule these islands are also known as the Spanish Virgin Islands. Isla de Culebra is one such place we visited yesterday. The island has a low lying contour of lush vegetation and dotted with vacation condos. The chief claim to fame is a long stretch of beach that forms a semi circular bay. The wind this day was pretty strong and the red flags discouraged swimming there.
In the evening we returned to hear the famous executive chef Ben Robinson (Below Deck fame) talk about his sharing his insights and recipes in the culinary world. We were lucky enough to make friends with an English couple (Claire and Les) who convinced Ben to join us at our dinner table. A good time was had by all.
