Snowy Mountains

After ANZAC day we were treated to a lovely breakfast with Karessa’s Mother and Step-Dad. Their property has gorgeous views and in summer there is plenty of outdoor space to dine al fresco. It’s a jewel of a home.

Jindabyne is the gateway to the Snowy Mountains of Australia located in the Kosciuszko National Park. This is where Australians come to ski in their winter. The tallest peak is at roughly 7,000 feet with nice ski runs. We took the 30-minute drive up to the small ski town of Thredbo. The tallest peak sits at roughly 7,000 feet. They had just finished mountain bike season the day before, so the town was quiet. But it was a gorgeous fall day with a nip in the air.

On the way back to Jindabyne, we stopped at the Wild Brumby Distillery to taste their schnapps. A brumby in Australia is a wild horse. The property has lovely art displayed all over the property created by the owner and the schnapps were yummy.
