Happy Easter

This Easter we started the day by going to a sweet little church on Kargaroo Point. The church is called St. Mary’s and this year is celebrating its 150 year anniversary. We were welcomed by many people in the congregation who were curious about our story of why were in Brisbane.

It was a lovely service and each time we attend a ceremony or service, we are impressed by how the people acknowledge indigenous people by saying: « As we gather in this Church, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples, and pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging ». I think it would be wonderful if all religious services would begin by acknowledging the indigenous populations who have come before us. Happy Easter to you all!
