Just down river from us is a place they call the Powerhouse. By ferry it takes about 30 minutes to get there. As the name suggests this used to be the power generating station for the area. Now they have removed all the electrical equipment and it has become an art center and a community gathering place for various activities. For example, on weekend mornings they have an outdoor market.
In the month of March is something called Night Feast which we just attended. Over 50 top quality restaurants sell their signature dishes as street food. You walk among the vendors and pick your dinner. Then pick up a drink and sit at one of the many French style bistro tables. After your tummy is satisfied you can walk around the Powerhouse and feast your eyes with light displays and unusual creatures walking about. A very cool idea especial on a warm summer evening.
