It does rain in this city and a few days ago we had a torrential downpour. Being close to the tropics creates massive storms and lightning strikes. According to news reports, this particular storm produced over 170,000 lightening strikes.
Last year it rained so much the Brisbane River broke its banks by several feet taking riverbank restaurants and ferry terminals with it. Only now are they finally back to normal.
