Kangaroo Point Rock Climbing

When walking the trail along the river at Kangaroo Point you come across a section of steep rocky cliffs. Many years ago this area was excavated for the stone edifices of the city buildings in the 1800’s. The Kangaroo Point cliffs are also made of volcanic rock mined by convicts.

Especially on Saturday and Sunday, you see many people putting on their gear to safely climb the steep cliffs. Old and young alike take their turn for the big climb. Having been to the top by public staircase, I can assure you the climb is worth it the view.
