In Brisbane, Super Bowl Sunday actually falls on Monday morning. So this Monday morning we went to a huge Super Bowl party at Felons Brewery. Our American friends Gary and Lisa invited us to watch the game along with their cousins and friends. They are big Eagles fans having lived on the East Coast with family still there.
Over 300 people attended the event in the big hall with a jumbo tv. At the 9:30 am kickoff, beer was already flowing freely and the crowd was roaring for their favorite team. The broadcast feed was from live US TV and showed the latest US commercials and the full halftime show. The hall was full of devoted football fans cheering and yelling as each team scored. Our table was sad the Eagles had lost, but the football event was thrilling and the beer and burgers made us feel like we were in America. Thanks Gary and Lisa for inviting us!
