During my walks in the park I often pass by the old Government House at the University of Queensland campus. It’s a stately building designed in the 19th Century.
Further up the road I encounter a totally different modern building which I fondly call the Darth Vader building. This high rise evokes the future.
When I see these buildings in a single walk, both structures reassure me of the continuity of society here. Both old and new coexist and are reminders we evolve and change. Experiencing that is good for my soul.
