After a New Year’s night of partying and the morning after effects, nothing refreshes more than a nice long hike in nature. So we all piled into the car and drove to Kondalilla National Park. It is only 20 minutes from Clive and Elizabeth’s home.
The National Park is s beautiful rain forest with many trails that wind down a steep gorge to the base of an 80 meter waterfall. Fortunately the sky was a bit cloudy so the hiking trail was mostly cooler but still humid. We took a 4 kilometer trail climbing down and then up the hillside. There is also a lovely pool where the locals come for a swim and dive down from the step cliffs.
By the time we returned to the parking lot we felt tired but regenerated by breathing the fresh air and exercising our bodies. A good way to start the year.
