The Seesaw of Time & Space

The earth tilts back and forth

Happy Solstice!

We are thinking of all of you in the Northern Hemisphere as you celebrate the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. Meanwhile we’re here in the Southern Hemisphere where it is the longest day of the year.

The world is a beautiful tilting seesaw or oscillator. One side goes cold and dark while the other goes hot and light. How fun and yet how delicate the balance is between the two sides. Like a seesaw, we don’t think about the physics we just play in the world. With the climate changes we have been experiencing on this trip, it seems to us the balance point between the two sides is beginning to wear out.
