Nearly three years ago we were on a Holland America cruise off the coast of Vanuatu when we met Fran. Her proper name is Francis Thomas and she is 87 years old. It turned out despite being perfect strangers we had many of the same acquaintances in Maleny!
Fran lives in Brisbane and because of Covid we couldn’t see her the last time we visited. Yesterday we finally got together over High Tea at Room with Roses in a beautiful old shopping arcade in Brisbane. We spent nearly two hours together catching up. Fran is so interesting and worldly. She along with her husband were well known medical researchers and travelled the world.
Fran has become an important part of our growing community of friends in Brisbane. In fact yesterday we asked her if she would be our Aunty (Australian spelling) and she agreed!
