Last night at 10:30 pm we got a text saying our scheduled flight from Cairns to Sydney was canceled! That meant the subsequent connection to Dallas and Albuquerque would be missed. After much scrambling by our travel agent and fitful sleep we arranged an overnight in Sydney. That of course has presented all kinds of complications to our Covid exemption paperwork. We shall see what happens when we wake up from our accomodations at Rydges in Sydney International Airport. Wish us luck.
So we departed Port Douglas at 6am as originally planned and arrived in Cairns 5 hours before a newly scheduled flight to Sydney in the afternoon. We decided to cab it into Cairns to have a last Eggs Benedict of Stone Crab. It was very yummy along with my flat white coffee. Next door was a fabulous art exhibit of 100 years of award winning portraits. With stomachs full and our minds stimulated we went back to the airport to continue our journey homeward.
