We are staying in Laz Paz in a hotel next to the old town square for the next two days. The city is a big switch from rural Baja. The cathedral, Catedral de Nuestra Señora de La Paz is a beautiful structure reminding us of the churches in the port cities we saw in the Mediterranean. There is plenty of art all around which makes it feel like we are in creative Spain. And the quaint streets lead up to wonderful outdoor restaurants serving up gourmet meals at half the price of restaurants back home.
The city is famous for the Malecon, a walking path along the shoreline that stretches the length of the old city. In the evening families and lovers come out to enjoy the sunset walking, running or bicycling back and forth. We did the walk too and felt quite at home in the lovely night air. We will be back.
