Dear family and friends, Brenda and I wish you the most joyous Christmas season. Here in this little beach town the celebrations are very modest with few outward decorations. The streets have simple stars hanging from the street wires and the main square has a paper Christmas tree. It is refreshing to be away from all the commercialism normally back home.
As the Pope talked about in his homily last night, it is in the simple and small things in life where we find God. We find great joy in this small town today.
