Once you get off the main highways in Baja you encounter dirt roads everywhere. Usually they are graded pretty well but you tend to have lots of potholes and bumps. Driving them can be slow and a bit unnerving especially when wet or super dry on slippery sand.
Just because you’re on a dirt road doesn’t mean you’re in a bad neighborhood. In fact many million dollar mansions are located on such dirt roads. I suppose between poor and rich, the dirt road is a social equalizer.
