At Sea – Life Aboard the Eurodam

Nov. 10, 2021

The Eurodam from Holland-America lines has been our home for several days now. It’s a much bigger ship than our beautiful small vessel the Windsurf from Windstar Cruises. The Eurodam can accommodate some 2,500 passengers. On this cruise back to the USA the passenger load is much less at around 1,600. This is a far cry from the 160 passengers on Windsurf.

The differences of course are the amount of amenities and services offered. There’s a huge dining room and cafeteria for free.  We have several specialty restaurants which charge premium rates for basically the same foods we get for free. We have a Vegas style gambling center which we rarely visit. Then there are the two pools and spas. Several shops are on board and a huge theater for major productions. We are not without amusement options while at sea.

All in all, this makes for a lot of opportunities for fun. But for Brenda and I, we are mostly working on our Navajo film documentary and taking time to admire the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. Even here we practice the Navajo prayer of acknowledging the beauty surrounding us. That’s not too hard to do with so much natural beauty to see.
