Many of our friends in the States have seen the CNN TV Culinary shows by Stanley Tucci and his adventures in Italy. One episode takes place on the Amalfi Coast where he goes to Lo Scoglio da Tommaso right on the beach about 30 minutes from Sorrento. Today that’s exactly where we went for lunch and had one simply wonderful and beautiful experience.
Our appetizer started with fresh cooked vegetables lightly seasoned from the restaurant’s four family owned farms. Then for a Primi we had an excellent risotto with a medley of shell fish. Our Secondo course was Branzino fish baked with lemon sauce and potatoes and capers. Desert was Tiramisu with strong espresso coffee. The wine selected was a delicious white called Greco. It was one of the most memorable meals we have had yet in this part of Italy. The whole experience was about two long and languishing hours. Our taste buds and stomachs were happy with the simple yet satisfying purity, freshness and preparation of the food. Thanks Tucci for the recommendation!
