While Brisbane is at the start of the tropics and it is hot at Christmas, we still can get in the mood. For instance, the Poinciana tree is a flowering tree with glorious red flowers that bloom only this time of year. Red is a color we associate with the season so we know down here that Christmas is upon us. While we are environmentally totally different from the northern hemisphere, in our hearts we are still one in holiday spirit.
