San Juan Capistrano

It took us three hours to traverse the greater megalopolis of Los Angeles. On the way we stopped at this old Spanish Mission built in 1776. The Spanish built a string of these missions all the way up to San Francisco Bay.

They are lovely places to visit but on this record hot day we didn’t linger. Each year in March the swallows return from Mexico to nest here. In the fall they leave back south. Kinda like the birds, we are migrants from this land for southern parts.
