Hubbard Glacier

On the way to Seward our final stop, we went to see the Hubbard Glacier. Hubbard is an enormous glacier with a face that is 7 miles wide and originates 71 miles up in Canada . We were fortunate enough to book a tour with a small observation vessel that picked us up by the ship.
The closer we approached, the enormity of the face became apparent. Over three hundred feet high we saw various sections calving into the sea. What struck us was the grand majesty of the place with the backdrop sound effects of the glacier groaning and cracking in the distance.
