Juneau is the capitol of Alaska. It is another city that is landlocked with no road in or out of the city. That is just as well since the scenery is full of beautiful soaring mountains, a multitude waterways and glaciers.
We took a tour of Tracy Arm, one of the fjords that ends at a glacier. It was a 7+ hour tour to get there. But boy was it worth it. The sun shone brightly which made the blue glacier all the more spectacular.
During the voyage we saw bears, sea lions and a lone humpback whale. A highlight was having a piece of glacier ice lifted from the water and used for our drinks. A nice way to end the day with a cocktail served with thousand year old ice!
