Nearby is a dairy farm which sells fresh milk. In the United States it is pretty much illegal to buy raw milk, but here in the UK it is easily available. The Bunker Hills Dairy has one of the most innovative methods of procuring their raw milk I have seen. Our friend Stephen took us there for a look and purchase. We drove up a gentle hill into the courtyard of the farm which looked like a small castle square.
Tucked into one corner was a small structure with all the necessary facilities to automatically dispense the milk. Stephen made jokes about how the cows were hooked up to the milking machines and the dispenser for instant milking. For two pounds and 20 pence or roughly $3.00 USD you can get a very fresh gallon of milk. It’s all very civilized and orderly but the taste is out of this world.
