In 1988 Brisbane hosted a global World Expo. It was situated on the south bank of the Brisbane River overlooking the CBD (Central Business District). After the Expo, Brisbane created the wonderful SouthBank Park that you have read a lot about in our blog postings. The last building that remains from the exhibition is a Nepalese pagoda. It is nestled in a tropical, jungle-like garden and is one of the most peaceful places to contemplate life in the SouthBank. The pagoda has wonderful hardwood carvings which lift your spirit to a world away.
