Located in the Lamington National Park, this recreational area in nestled in a beautiful mountain range about 2 hours outside Brisbane. My friend JT, his friend Selwyn and I enjoyed a ten kilometer hike through the rain forest. At the higher altitude it was cooler than in the city. We ended up at the bottom of a gorge where waterfalls were running. It was a three and a half hour hike.
Back up the hill is the O’Reilly’s Resort with a spa and cabins to rent. Along with a lovely restaurant with spectacular views, you are entertained by the multicolored parrots that are tame and fearless. Thanks JT for a great day.
