Tangalooma is a privately owned resort off the coast from Brisbane. Located on Moreton Island, this tropical oasis is made up almost entirely of sand. To get there you take an eighty minute ferry ride from Brisbane harbor.
Once at the resort, there are a number of sports activities available for your pleasure. You can surf down sand dunes, snorkel among ship wrecks, ride an ATV on the beach or just languish by the pool or beach. In the evening they feed a pod of dolphins who show up every day.
Our trip was mostly a beach day. For us, summer is not a true summer until we have a beach day swimming in warm waters. Returning home, we were happy and slightly sun burned campers.
