Kangaroo Point is the name of one of the suburbs of Brisbane, QLD. It is a narrow point of land surrounded by the Brisbane River on three sides with stunning views of the CBD (Central Business District) and Story Bridge. It got its name during Aboriginal times when they chased kangaroos to the end of the point and corralled them in the annual hunt.

Today one of the prettiest places to hunt for food is Joey’s restaurant sitting atop Kangaroo Point’s dramatic cliffs. Of course the name refers to young kangaroos which are called joeys. On Wednesday night we dined here with our friends Lance and Carole Lewis from Maleny. They introduced us to their friends, Terry and Margaret, who live nearby in Kangaroo Point, and a good time was had by all.

The next day we moved into our new apartment on the Southbank next to Kangaroo Point and toasted with our glasses of red wine as the sun set.
