We almost made it to the Azores. The ship backed into the dock but pushed away the last minute. The captain said we had to leave due to wind and current.
Brenda and I are concerned as we have had Covid cases on board. Day before yesterday they removed two passengers who tested positive and 8 crew members. Approximately 78 crew members are now quarantined.
So now we head for our next destination in Florida. We won’t have another Covid test until the day before we land. We are a little uncertain about what happens next so will keep the following poem in mind.
My dear friend Tom Layton sent me this called « As Spake Columbus »
BEHIND him lay the gray Azores,
Behind the Gates of Hercules;
Before him not the ghost of shores,
Before him only shoreless seas.
The good mate said: “Now must we pray, | 5 |
For lo! the very stars are gone.
Brave Admiral, speak, what shall I say?”
“Why, say, ‘Sail on! sail on! and on!’” |
